Pre-Concert Chat at the Burlington Central Library
Monday May 6, 2019, 2:00-3:30 pm
Burlington Central Library (Centennial Hall)
2331 New Street, Burlington, ON L7R 1J4
Join newly appointed music director Denis Mastromonaco as he shares fascinating insights into the music of our upcoming concert:
- Benny Goodman, the evolution of swing and the relationship between jazz and the symphony orchestra;
- Romantic concertos and the orchestra as accompanist; specifically Brahms and his violin concerto and Dvořák and his cello concerto, which the winners of our Young Artists’ Competition will play at the concert!
A wonderful opportunity to meet the Maestro, learn something new and enhance your enjoyment of the concert!
Our thanks to the Burlington Public Library for providing the space. Registration for this free event is preferred, but all are welcome.
