Board of Directors

The Burlington Symphony Orchestra (BSO) is a community orchestra serving Burlington and the surrounding area.  The Orchestra is comprised of 7 professional players and 45 amateur community players and is led by a talented Music Director. The BSO performs 5-6 concerts per year, mostly in the Burlington Performing Arts Centre and it also has a well-established youth and seniors outreach program.  The BSO is a fast-growing arts organization with a solid track record of making great music – it is approaching its 50th anniversary. An accomplished Board of Directors provides governance and oversight of its operations.

The BSO is looking for a dynamic individual to join its Board of Directors and spearhead its fundraising and sponsorship initiatives. Ideally, this person has experience developing and executing relationship-based fundraising initiatives in the Hamilton/Burlington area. She or he has led fundraising programs that included major and annual giving, corporate donations, planned giving, etc. but will also spearhead the exploration and execution of new fundraising opportunities and ideas.

This position is ideal for someone wishing to take ownership of a not-for-profit’s fundraising efforts and transform their love of the arts and community into tangible results, helping the BSO grow to offer new programming for Burlington and the surrounding area. This individual will be working closely with our talented Board of Directors, a group of highly skilled and talented professionals with strong community connections and a passion for the arts.
