2. Isole E Olena Cepparello, 2022 | Tuscany, Italy

Restrained at the first sniff, this vintage shines with smoky and straw aromas, together with intense violets, bright red cherries and cherry stones. Cedar wood in depth. Full-bodied and extracted, yet full of fruit sweetness, displaying velvety tannins and crisp integrated acidity which enhances and lengthens the cherry flavor. Super polished finish.

  • Score: 97 (JamesSuckling.com, March 24, 2025)
  • LCBO: 28768 | $199.95

3. Le Ragose Amarone Della Valpolicella Classico Reserva, 2013 | Veneto, Italy

Fermented in stainless steel tanks using indigenous yeasts, this Riserva 2013 spent no fewer than eight years in classic large, old Slavonian oak barrels. The result is well worth waiting for. Reviewed by Michael Garner, Sara Bachiorri, and Richard Baudains.

  • Drinking Window: 2024–2032
  • Score: 95 (Decanter, Nov. 10, 2024)
  • LCBO: 32699 | $101.95

4. Ségla Margaux, 2015 | Bordeaux, France

Dry and medium-bodied, the wine is produced from 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 43% Merlot, with the balance in Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc. The wine was matured in French oak barrels (25% new) and is fragrant with liquid blackberry, blueberry, baked cherry flavours, savoury and silky on the palate with good acidity for food and a flinty mineral finish. Tannins are well-integrated.

  • LCBO: 359810 | $86.95

5. Ratti Marcenasco Barolo, 2021 | Piedmont, Italy

Assertive aromas of graphite, violets, mint, and chalky minerality. A stunning, precise wine focused on elegance, with citrus flavors, a full body, and lavish, velvety tannins supported by freshness. Long, youthful, and savory aftertaste.

Grown and crafted in Mendoza, this wine comes courtesy of Canadian winemaking royalty Ann Sperling and Peter Gamble, who are industry leaders and pioneers of organic and biodynamic viticulture. Aged for 24 months in French oak, it showcases ripe berry fruit with subtle spice and smoky flourishes.

  • LCBO: 316984 | $69.95

7. Domaine Yvon & Laurent Vocoret Fourchaume Chablis 1er Cru, 2023 | Burgundy, France

…, rich, dense, intense and concentrated all the while remaining in the firm and sharp, chiselled Chablis idiom, with genuine, honest flavour depth, nourished by lees ageing, also clearly very ripe – a part of the fruit is harvested slightly later to boost density. Length and depth are excellent – a brilliant bottle at a highly attractive price. Chablis lovers rejoice.

  • Score: 93 (John Szabo, WineAlign, March 2025)
  • LCBO: 22776 | $58.95

8. Château La Nerthe Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc, 2023 | Rhône, France

…an absolute banging white that has ripe citrus and honeyed, spicy nuances in its medium-bodied, wonderfully pure, focused profile. A blend of 44% Roussanne, 41% Grenache Blanc, 11% Clairette, and 4% Bourboulenc, it shows the softer style of the vintage and brings plenty of fruit while staying balanced, focused, and light on its feet.

  • Drinking Window: 2024–2034
  • Score: 94 (Jeb Dunnuck, Oct. 29, 2024)
  • LCBO: 21919 | $74.95

9. Casello di Ama San Lorenzo Chianti Grand Selezione, 2020 | Tuscany, Italy
