Friends of BSO Initiative

As one of the leading Burlington-Hamilton Community Orchestras, the Burlington Symphony Orchestra is keen on welcoming dedicated volunteers to bolster our growth and success. We have myriad roles available – but should you have a particular strength or expertise, contact us to find the right role or project just for you. Support local arts by joining us in our endeavour, and you'll be part of a cohesive group that convenes throughout the season; together, we'll form an unwavering bastion of support for the orchestra.

MARKETING & PROMOTION

Assist with creating and implementing advertising strategies to promote orchestra performances and events across various channels.

Support initiatives that connect the orchestra with the community, such as promoting concerts, organizing mini-concerts, and coordinating children’s programs.

Event Management & Fundraising

Help organize and run fundraising events, including bake sales, silent auctions, and galas, to support the orchestra’s mission.

Oversee VIP guest services during events, ensuring a seamless experience and coordinating with catering teams.

Assist with planning events that align with the orchestra’s concert schedule, ensuring smooth operations and coordination

Creative & Support Roles

Help design promotional materials, advertisements, and other visual assets to support marketing and event promotion efforts.

Support the music librarian in managing sheet music and provide assistance to the equipment manager in handling musical instruments and gear.

Special Projects & Consultation

Support programs designed to foster youth engagement with the orchestra, helping to develop the next generation of music lovers and performers.

Lend your expertise to special projects by collaborating with the Board of Directors on strategic initiatives for the orchestra.

Ontario High School Community Service Hours

Volunteering with the Burlington Symphony Orchestra is a great way to get involved in your community, and we have student-friendly volunteer opportunities for youths from Burlington, Hamilton, Oakville, Milton, Mississauga and surrounding regions. 

Ontario high school students looking to fufil their community service commitments, our volunteer roles can be counted towards the mandatory 40-hour requirement for graduation.
